For Kristykimmy

This is a tribute I made for , who passed away last year.

I knew her through a Neopets community, from back when I was active in the Neopian Times. I never knew her very well but I always meant to someday know her better. I wish I had known that there was only so much time I could have, but I'm grateful for every time our paths crossed, because she always brightened mine. She was a kind of person who spread warmth wherever she went, that even those who didn't know her well could feel.

It's rather bittersweet that the last thing she uploaded to DA, this short story, could just as easily be a tribute to herself by her own hand.

I drew Lucius in this picture because he's my favorite Fire Emblem character, and I know she liked him too, and she told me FE7 was her favorite game. But this isn't meant to be a Fire Emblem picture; it's for her. It's to take the place of all the FE7 conversations I wish we'd had and all the art I wish I'd made in time for her to see.

I still find comments from her on my old FE art sometimes, and they still make me smile. She was the first to wish me a happy birthday one year, and now it's almost my birthday again. I had been putting off uploading this, but now seems like a good time.
