Finally couldn’t stand it anymore and had to make Ranma 1/2 fanart, which I’ve been meaning to do for ages, even if it's just a simple gag. This series was basically the first manga I ever got into and to this day it’s arguably still my favorite manga, as well as one of the most hilarious things I’ve read. I had the first twenty volumes of it while I was growing up and I read them over and over till I’d practically memorized the storylines. Rumiko Takahashi was basically the entire reason that I started drawing in a manga-influenced style, and I took a lot of artistic inspiration from her work; I’ve always really loved her characters and the way her comics convey humor and expressions.

(I know the comic doesn't do a good job of handling gender issues, ironically since it's what the series is about, but I still love it as a work of character-based comedy.)

This is part of my long proud tradition of procrastinating on getting started with NaNoWriMo with silly doodles in the first week of November. That or it's part of my long proud tradition of procrastinating on everything ever with silly doodles, rivaled only by my tradition of procrastinating on everything ever by staring at my own silly doodles. I should have a Venn diagram for this.

Yeah, it's an awesome series! I'm glad to see people still remember it; I never see much of it these days, I guess because it's pretty old by now.

And thank you, I'm glad you like the faces! I tried to stay in the spirit of the style (which wasn't that hard since my expressions have been influenced quite a bit by Takahashi already).
